The Qliphoth: Husks of Reality
Forbidden lore, compiled from seized texts
Compiler's Warning: This document is compiled from seized heretical texts. To the Adamant Concord, possessing this knowledge is a capital offense. To the Flowing Garden, it is poison for the soul. To the Way of the Middle Pillar, it is the anatomy of damnation. To understand the Husk is to risk being filled by it.
The Nature of the Shells
The Qliphoth (sing. Qliphah, lit. "Shell" or "Husk") are not a "dark side" of magic, but its cancerous absence. Each Qliphah is the principle of a Sefirah taken to its monstrous extreme, divorced from any balancing influence. They are not a source of power, but cosmic parasites that offer shortcuts to the foolish.
A mage who studies them is called a Diver. This path inevitably leads to Infestation—a terminal state where the Diver's soul is consumed and replaced, transforming them into a monstrous Avatar of their patron Husk.
(For examples of the monstrous archetypes that result from such study, see the guide on Qliphothic Avatars.)
